The Coalition for Homelessness Intervention & Prevention mobilizes, advocates and empowers community collaboration to end homelessness and foster an effective system of homelessness prevention and intervention in the greater Indianapolis area. CHIP board and staff members believe that successful efforts towards ending homelessness require the collective talents, resources, and commitment of the entire Indianapolis community.

Position Summary

The Street Reach Indy Manager will oversee and lead all efforts related to the Street Reach Indy program including fundraising, marketing, volunteer management, and overall vision for the program. The manager will build strong connections and engagement opportunities for businesses in downtown Indianapolis. The position will oversee a fundraising and awareness campaign about ending homelessness in downtown Indianapolis, and will work collaboratively with homeless service providers to assure effective distribution of funds and documentation of outcomes. The Street Reach Indy Manager will oversee the implementation of a panhandling survey three times a year, and maintain active knowledge about panhandling locally and nationally.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

• Cultivate strong relationships with downtown businesses and groups
• Solicit and secure donations and sponsorships for the Street Reach Indy campaign to end homelessness
• Raise a flexible pot of funds that help secure housing and fund supportive expenses that lead to housing or maintain housing
• Assure effective recognition is provided to sponsors and donors, including thank you letters and other forms of recognition
• Develop messaging and branding for the Street Reach Indy campaign
• Recruit and manage an advisory committee that represents various downtown stakeholders, including businesses, the City of Indianapolis, faith-based groups, and nonprofit homeless providers
• Field community calls from businesses and individuals that call to express concerns about panhandling and visible homelessness in the downtown area
• Collaborate with and keep the Professional Blended Outreach Team updated about available funding and project activities
• Coordinate and conduct an annual panhandling survey three times a year
• Research and maintain an active knowledge base about panhandling locally and nationally
• Educate individuals, businesses and other groups about homelessness with a focus on downtown
• Manage the fund distribution or project management for the funds secured through the Street Reach Indy campaign
• Educate businesses and community members about homelessness, coordinated entry, and opportunities for volunteer engagement
• Track outcomes and create monthly outcome reports
• Provide strong customer service to continuum members, volunteers and others
• Strategically identify problems, causes, and solutions within the CoC

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree required from a four-year college or university. Two years of experience in relevant field required. Knowledge of fundraising, marketing, nonprofits, community planning, and local supportive services and housing programs for homeless and low income individuals desired.

Salary Range:          Mid to Upper Forties
